The FAU was a Quaker organisation that worked along side the miltary in war zones to help provide civilian relief. WW1 Issue Kilt, Cameron Highlanders

Heavy military issue kilt for the Cameron Highlanders. Single buckle with partial white blanket lining, issue stamps inside, '2' over 'WD' over 'E' for Edinburgh clothing depot. All in very good order apart from small area of snagging to lower front edge and a narrow discoloured strip to the rear. Approx 32W, 24'' drop.  read more

This appears to be of a military pattern and the previous owner had got it in the 1970s from store buildings at an MoD site in Bath. He said it was not in brilliant condition and had it recovered, although some of the original grey paint can still be seen on the bottom runners.
